“Ms. Maria” Neubauer – opened February 17, 1995
Maria D’Angelo Neubauer was born in New Haven, CT and was raised in Wallingford, CT. She graduated from MT Sheehan High School & Southern Connecticut State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. She is a certified teacher in the State of Connecticut. She had frequently taught in the local public school systems and later became the coordinator of a local nursery school facility.
She was married to Robert Neubauer in 1990 and after the birth of their first child she started a state licensed home daycare. Her program used a hands-on approach to learning along with an array of learning techniques to better transition her students to elementary school.
Her three children (Robbie, Karen & Kacey) have all attended this facility and she has devised a system that combines the warmth of a family home with the educational programs of schools. Kinder-Garden Learning Center is the result of all her hard work and dedication. KGLC was accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) in 1999 and hr program was selected as a School Readiness Provider in Meriden, CT from 1998 through 2002 in an effort to properly prepare the city’s youth for the public school system.
All of her employees have been hand picked for their positions and she works hard to make this center the best place around for our young children. She prides herself on her “open door” policy, due to her understanding as a mother that not just anyone is good enough to care for your child. She maintains a long association with all of the families, long after their children have left the center and admits that her greatest thrills come from the stories of her students’ future successes.
She has served as a NAEYC validator, volunteers for many childhood causes and works as the education consultant for several state childcare centers. Maria is in the process of obtaining her Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Literacy. She is an active advocate for Early Childhood Education and has been outspoken in her support of funding for the State’s Care-4-Kids program. She is very proud of her program and her exceptional staff and facility.
