OUR PRESCHOOL TEACHERS

“Ms. Donna” Sievert – employed since September 30, 2002

Donna Marie Northup Sievert was born in Fontana, CA and moved to Glastonbury, CT in 1970.  She married Christian Sievert in 1979 and is the proud mother of Jennifer and Lauren.

She is a graduate of Glastonbury High School and is currently taking continuing education courses in Early Childhood Education as she works toward the completion of her CDA degree through the State of Connecticut.

Prior to joining our family, she worked as a teacher’s aide at Israel Putnam & Roger Sherman Elementary Schools.  She volunteered to sew some children’s costumes for the center’s graduation ceremony in 2002 and then started working with us.

Ms. Donna serves as one of KGLC’s preschool teachers and has fantastic maternal instincts that endear her to both children and families in our community.  She routinely handles pre-registration visits with prospective parents and familiarizes them with each and every policy & procedure at KGLC.  Her consistency, dependability and ability to communicate accurately with parents make her a tremendous asset to KGLC.

She is an active advocate for children’s rights and is constantly working for expansion of Early Childhood Education Programs in the State of Connecticut.  Donna has also been an outspoken supporter of funding for the State’s Care-4-Kids program.

Ms. Donna enjoys gardening but is equally as gifted on a computer being able to type 100+ words per minute.  We hope she understands that she is a tremendous member of the KGLC family and the local community.

“Ms. Debbie” Terrusa – employed since September 1, 2006

Deborah Jean Terrusa was born in New Haven, CT and was raised in Wallingford, CT.  She married Edward & is the proud mother of three daughters: Angelina, Cassandra & Josephine.

She is a graduate of Sheehan High School and Middlesex Community College.  She is currently taking continuing education courses in Early Childhood Education as she works toward her CDA degree through the State of Connecticut.

Prior to joining our family, she worked as a childcare provider at Healthworks and was a frequent volunteer at Highland Elementary School in Wallingford, CT.  She and Maria had been friends for years as their girls attended many of the same classes and programs.  It was only when Healthworks closed that Maria was lucky enough to lure Debbie to join OUR FAMILY.

Ms. Debbie serves as one of KGLC’s preschool teachers.  Her warm heart and years of experience make her a tremendous asset to KGLC.  In a short time she has touched the lives of her students and the families in our community.

Debbie enjoys cooking for family and friends, entertaining and spending time with her daughters.  Her favorite day is Sunday because she is able to spend the entire day together with her family. She is an advocate for children’s rights and is constantly working for expansion of Early Childhood Education Programs in the State of Connecticut.  Debbie has also been an outspoken supporter of funding for the State’s Care-4-Kids program.

Besides her won family, she enjoys watching your children grow and learn.  We hope she realizes just how lucky KGLC is to have her as a member of OUR FAMILY. We do!
