OUR ADMINISTRATOR

“Big Rob” Neubauer – employed since August 1, 1998

Robert J. Neubauer was born and raised in Meriden, CT.  He studied Human Development & Family Relations at the University of Connecticut and also attended Central Connecticut State University where he majored in Business Education.  He worked as both a Loss Prevention Officer for a major department store and as an insurance claim investigator for both the Principal Financial Group and Connecticare prior to working at Kinder-Garden Learning Center (KGLC).

He was married to Maria Neubauer in 1990 and is the proud father of three great children (Robbie, Karen & Kacey).  When Maria mentioned that she needed to hire an administrator to handle all the paperwork at KGLC, it only seemed natural for him to join the family at the childcare center

“Big Rob” successfully served as the administrator for KGLC during its validation visit from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) in 1999 and subsequently was rewarded when Kinder-Garden Learning Center became nationally accredited by NAEYC.  He continues to advance in his professional career and in March, 2002 received the “National Administrator Credential” from the National Child Care Association which signifies excellence in the field of childcare administrative skills.

He is active in the community as a member of the Meriden Elks Club and served on the board of the Yalesville Little League.  Rob also coaches baseball at Lyman Hall HS in Wallingford.  Rob likens himself to the invisible man.  “You may not always see me, but you know I’m there to help”.  He routinely stays behind the scenes to help things run smoothly, but doesn’t hesitate to step up and rectify problems that may arise.

He is an active advocate for Early Childhood Education and has been outspoken in his support of funding for the State’s Care-4-Kids program.  He believes that quality preschool education is a great cause to fight for and understands that proper funding for qualified families is necessary for this to be successful.

Rob is very proud of the program he helped create and celebrated its 14th anniversary on February 27, 2009.
